Enum PaymentEventType

Namespace

Assembly

The kinds of webhook a payment provider sends that a caller is expected to act on.

public enum PaymentEventType

Fields

PayeeAccountUpdated = 1

What the provider allows a payee to do has changed — being paid out, most of all.

PaymentFailed = 4

A payment was refused.

PaymentMethodSaved = 2

A customer saved a payment method, and it can now be charged off-session.

PaymentRefunded = 5

A payment was refunded, in whole or in part.

Sent for a refund the caller asked for and for one raised at the provider — a dispute resolved in the customer's favour, or somebody acting in the provider's dashboard. That is why it is worth acting on rather than inferring from the caller's own refund call: the caller's records are otherwise the last to know.

PaymentSucceeded = 3

A payment settled.

Unknown = 0

Not one of the events below. Record it and ignore it.

Remarks

A provider client maps its own event names onto these. Anything it does not recognise arrives as Unknown rather than being dropped, because a caller still has to record that a delivery happened — an endpoint that fails on an event it has no use for makes the provider retry it for days.
